This will help you troubleshoot system restarts during Windows® shutdown and Windows restarting unexpectedly.

  1. On the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
  2. Click Performance and Maintenance and choose the System option. In Windows Classic mode, choose Control Panel then System.
  3. Select the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Startup and Recovery section, choose Settings.
  5. Uncheck Automatically Restart in the System failure section.
